A very common species throughout the county.
Wingspan : M & F, Spring brood 46-51mm. Summer brood 40-44mm.
Woodland, scrub, parkland, gardens and urban areas.
Most broadleaf trees.
Overwinters as a pupa in spun leaves amongst the plant debris. Larva mid May-late June and August-early October.
