Resident. Local S,(C).
Generally a fairly scarce and local species, but it can be locally quite common, as at Middletown. All records came from the south-east side of the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 25-30mm.
Broadleaf woodland, hedgerows, parks and gardens.
Overwinters as a pupa. Larva June-July and August-September. It can be seen at night hanging from a silk thread on the foodplant.
