Habitat

Mainly upland woodland and moorland, to a lesser extent some lowland wooded sites also sand dunes.

Foodplant

A wide range of plants which include bilberry, heather, sallow, willow herb, cow parsley and red campion.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as an egg. Larva April-June.
