A 'Nationally Scarce B' species, that was formally found on the eastern side of the county, but not seen since 1949.
Wingspan : M & F, 34-38mm.
Small Argent & Sable.
Open or coppiced broadleaf woodland, moorland and bogs.
Downy and silver birch, also recorded on bog myrtle.
Overwinters as a pupa in plant debris. Larva late June-mid August, living between spun leaves.
