A rarely recorded species which is most likely due to its moorland habitat and therefore under recorded. It has only been recorded on six occasions, the last time in 1988.

Wingspan :  M & F, 32-37mm.

Habitat

Moorland, woodland and most boggy or wet places.

Foodplant

Broadleaved willows.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa. Larva July-September. Larva feed at night and hide between spun leaves of the foodplant during the day.
