A scarce and local species restricted to the south and east of the county, recorded just five times, the last being 1973 in Newtown.
Wingspan : M & F, 33-36mm.
Mature broadleaf woodland.
Overwinters as an egg attached to a twig of the foodplant. Larva April or early May-early July which hide in spun leaves during the day. Pupates in a cocoon formed in the leaves on the tree.
